Southern Regional Ramble – Fleet Pond – 30th July 2017
We had a really super day at Fleet Pond.  This is the largest freshwater lake in Hampshire and is dedicated solely to wildlife it is believed to have been constructed in the 12th century as a fishery to provide nutritious food to local farms and villages. It has lots of different areas that make it a diverse and interesting ramble.  There are wetlands, woodland, heathland and even a little sandy bay on the way round, we also a followed the towpath of the Basingstoke Canal for a short distance.
