We plan routes throughout Hampshire and the fringes of neighbouring counties. We have a group of approx 30 members and try to ramble several times a month, it’s great fun and the reccy’s are equally interesting.
We are always pleased to welcome new members. Like Disabled Ramblers, we find getting out into the fresh air and into the countryside very uplifting and rewarding.-

Hi Woodlander,
What facilities do you have i usually need the loo before I start? And a coffee too in this weather! You must be logged in to reply to this topic.-

Hi et
We usually manage to have a loo at the beginning of a ramble, if not, we have to use nature’s advantages, i.e. bushes etc., but if this is likely to be the case we notify our members by putting the lack of facilities on the ramble programme. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer portable facilities. As to coffee, a good old flask is the answer here!!! We wear double clothes and look really odd, but keep warm!
I do hope this has gone on the forum OK, my technical manager isn’t here at the moment so it’s a bit hit and miss!
I do hope this answers your query, et, are you thinking of coming to one of our rambles in the near future? We would be delighted to welcome you.You must be logged in to reply to this topic.-

What a good likeness!! Be lovely to have your company if you can make it, at any time. Yesterday I did a little ramble round my local Inclosure in the forest and what hit me was the bird-song. Quite often it is absolutely quiet when you trundle through the tracks, but yesterday it was lovely all the birds were singing, and it made such a difference to think that Spring is slowly edging its way forward. Hurray!!! Rambles – here we come!

7 of us went out today, here in Hampshire. Great fun, superb weather. Explored tracks around Brockenhurst, lots of cy lists emerging and making the most of the sunshine. Ponies looking good. Forest floor awash. Plenty of mud too. Lucky to find some dry track in some places. Saw some frog spawn, first of the season. Spring is in the air, chaps!

What a great lift! Just when we thought the winter weather was never ending. Thanks to HR & all who drive with them. Sad news about Mike but hope he is now on the mend. On the subject of news we expect to see an article in the June edition of “Countryman” about our group. Probably not more than 1000 words but hopefully will catch the eye of new recruits. Any luck with recruiting yourselves? Have to admit we have done no real rambling since Hatfield Forest but you have spurred us into action & we shall be ambling down to the Thames this week. Nothing too strenuous as my walker is a bit out of practice!! Looking forward to the AGM & the real start of the season ( Sorry HR!! )

HR’s season never ends!!! Although we do have to postpone sometimes I must admit due to bad weather etc. I, too, am looking forward to the DR AGM and let’s hope we have some terrific weather to boost us all after this rather dreary winter. Hope you make the Thames, 3wheels, and don’t fall in or anything! It’s amazing how the sun makes you feel better, I’ve even sat in my garden several times having coffee and feeling lovely and warm, mid February – amazing isn’t it?
