Descent into Laverton

    Armchair Reccying in the Cotswolds.

This is a good time of the year to search for new ramble routes, and I have found a great way to do it, by sitting at home with my computer and looking at U-tube. Bikers videos are a great source of information about routes, which although intended for bikers are usually fine for us too. Just to show that it works, here’s a route that was spotted this way.

Firstly, click on the bikers video link … and then onto our shorter and more sedate version. We are shown at the very end of the ramble just after an exciting drop down into Laverton village. We were too busy hanging onto the handlebars to think about filming during the descent.
Many thanks to Val, Bob, Helen, Jo and Colin for agreeing to star without demanding royalties.

    This one’s our video.

The ramble proper will take place in the Spring of next year, after the Cotswold AONB wardens have made some level changes to a difficult stretch of the route. It will run from Snowshill Manor up to the Cotswold Way, from where we can expect to see great views over the Vale of Evesham, and then down the escarpment into Laverton. It should be a good day, so I hope you will join us.
