It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Katharine Sargent. She died at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital on Sunday 3 January. She was 95.
Always active – she celebrated her 80th birthday with a trip in a balloon – she took to a buggy when her mobility made walking on her beloved Devon moors impossible. The Disabled Ramblers were her salvation: she looked forward with great anticipation to receiving the itinerary through the post and planned her diary around as many rambles as she could.
Katharine’s husband, Denis, died in 1992. She had six children, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. The family has asked that anyone who wishes to make a donation in her memory should make it to the Disabled Ramblers. Katherine’s son, John Sargent
