Holkham Hall would make quite a nice little holiday home! An absolutely beautiful estate with terrific views. Never want rambles to end, thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks to everyone for good company, and especially to Tony & Dorothy, and also to John C for taking all the photos.

Another good ramble with a great lunch stop. This figure-of-eight route allowed us to enjoy a hot lunch in a sheltered courtyard at the main house. Super scenery & good going in great company. Again the rain held off & we could concentrate on both! It was good that nearly all the route allowed us to join with colleagues for chats & reminiscences. Single file order is sometimes required, especially when a road diversion cannot be avoided, but there is nothing like using open grassy stretches or wide tracks allowing freedom to move among the group. Thanks again to Tony for his planning & interesting historical chats on the way round.
