A network of Tramper all-terrain mobility scooters has been launched in the North Pennines AONB and UNESCO Global Geopark, enabling more people to access the countryside.
There is one mobility scooter available at Talkin Tarn, Bowlees Visitor Centre, Killhope Lead Mining Museum, High Force, and Derwent Waterside Park. There are eight identified routes to explore and enjoy the landscape, with Talkin Tarn offering a flat route around the perimeter of the glacial tarn taking in woodlands and wildlife.
The North Pennines AONB Partnership has worked with Outdoor Mobility as the delivery partner for the project. Anyone who wants to hire a Tramper at any of the North Pennines locations must buy an Outdoor Mobility pass which also allows use of Trampers in the North York Moors and Lake District national parks. Book a Tramper here.
