Open Country is a Harrogate-based disability charity which helps people with disabilities to access the countryside. This is largely achieved through leading countryside activities including easy-going walks to more challenging rambles, tandem cycling, visits to country parks and historical places, conservation work, and outdoor pursuits and adventures. They work with adults with learning disabilities, mental health issues, sensory impairments and physical disabilities. Open Country also provides information, training and advice about accessibility in the countryside. In 2017 they expanded their organisation with their Wild about Wakefield project, based at Thornes Park in Wakefield.
